Central Dogma of Molecular Biology

DNA undergoes replication to make a copy of itself.

DNA is transcribed into RNA, and RNA is translated into proteins. This is the flow of information.

Reverse Transcriptase

This enzyme creates cDNA (complementary DNA) from a RNA template. This is opposite to the flow of information that was originally proposed. Retroviruses (e.g. HIV) do this. The flow of information is RNA -> DNA -> RNA -> peptide.
